Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) is a deemed university under the section 3 of UGC act 1956 and located in East Coast Road, Kanathur, Chennai. AMET is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). AMET established in 1993. The Institute offers Engineering, Management, and Diploma programmes which is B.Tech, B.E, B.Sc, MBA, BBA, and diploma. AMET assisting the deserving student for scholarships which is given by various Government Departments. AMET received awards like India Shipping Sumit Awards, Edupreneur 2012 award, Sailor Award etc. The Institute Infrastructure is unique and facilities are excellent like Ship in Campus operating in the water, library facilities, well equipped, state of art Full Mission Ship the simulator in the campus Laboratories, facilities to develop through physical education residential and swimming pool facility, etc.,

Overall: The teachers are helpful and friendly,and they always organize events and motivate students to participate and finds their skills. The college has good faculty
ReportOverall: Amet can be a good option for you if you have high PCM and survival skills, and also a good option for women developing in marine field to ensure there well being
Hostel: not very good washroom and toilets are worse plumbing system is poor flooding even in 5 th floor and there will be 4 ppl in a room designed for 2 and no comments
ReportOverall: Amet is nice college to study marine related courses. And it also offer Good placment opportunities than other marine college. Overall its a average college
Placement: Placments here in amet is some more better than other marine college. The main recruiter is mearsk line . They recruit nearly 80 members from a batch . And also other some companies also vista here
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very poor in amet University. The most of the building started aging but classrooms are nice which has smart class and ac aslo other facilities
Faculty: Most of facilities are from marine field. So they give and connect all concepts in practical way and utilises all modern technology to teach their students very well
Hostel: The hostel in amet is not in a good condition. And the rooms are very small in which we have to stay in 4 and also the rooms are too hot . We cannot sleep at night properly. But we can adjust it for some extent as we don't have any other options
